Meet OLC's August Player of the Month - Harold
Harold is an OLC legacy. His sister Taylor is a recent alum of our program. Harold was a member of the OLC 6th grade team this past spring and attended our summer clinics. Additionally, he participated in our College and Career Exploration camp. We had the opportunity to interview him about his OLC experience so far:
Name: Harold Lowe
Grade: 7th
School: Melrose Leadership Academy
How did you get introduced to lacrosse: Oakland Lacrosse has been a presence in my family for a few years now. My sister spent the last 3 years playing for OLC. My dad thought it would be a good sport for me to join as well when I entered the 6th grade. I was hesitant to join but enjoyed the preseason so decided to stick with it.
What do you like about lacrosse: I love playing attack. I have found it easy to do extra work by yourself to get better and get more fit. You really don't need a lot of space to work on the little parts of the game.
Academic Goals: My goal is to get all A's. I accomplished that during 6th grade.
Future Goals: I have two goals: 1) Chemist. I like destroying and rebuilding things; and 2) Supreme Court Judge. I want to study people and be able to help them out.
Favorite thing about our weekly practices: Hmmm. I love practice so there are so many "favorites" to choose from. If I were to pick one, it would be the very friendly environment at each practice, which comes directly from the coaches and players.
Favorite Memory at OLC from the spring season: My favorite memory would have to be when I scored during my first ever lacrosse game back in February. It was a great feeling!
