200+ OLC Alumni Turn out for Alumni Day 2025
This summer, 12 years of Oakland Lacrosse Club family came together for our biggest Alumni Day yet. More than 200 players, families, friends, and supporters gathered at Laney College to celebrate not just a day of lacrosse, but a decade of growth, connection, and community pride.
From the smell of barbecue on the grill—thanks to our friends at WebCore—to laughter and high fives echoing across the field, the vibe was pure joy. Players young and old mixed with parents, alumni, and staff, proving that once you’re part of OLC, you’re always family.
We saw bonds in action: staff, coaches, and players sharing meals, joking on the sidelines, and remembering that the heart of OLC is more than lacrosse—it’s the safety and belonging we create together. That sense of community spirit was everywhere, and you could feel how much pride comes from knowing that OLC is a place where kids are safe, supported, and seen.
Fredrick, a parent whose daughter Aniya is now a senior at Oakland Tech, reflected on what OLC has meant for their family. He shared how much he values the opportunities OLC has created—not just for his daughter, but for every young person who puts on a jersey. It’s in these stories that the real impact of OLC shines through: lifelong connections, leadership on and off the field, and lessons that last long after the final whistle.
As the gathering wrapped, the whole crowd came together in a giant circle on the field. Alumni stood side by side with current players, coaches gave shout-outs, and the day ended the way OLC always does, grounded in gratitude, lifted by community, and looking toward the future.
Two claps for WebCore for hosting the barbecue and sharing in a day of immense joy. Two claps for the OLC staff and coaches who brought the day to life. And two claps for every parent, player, alumni, and friend who showed up, laughed, shared, and reminded us all why OLC is “One Town, One Family.”
Alumni Day 2025 showed us just how strong the OLC family has grown. With record numbers, new stories, and lifelong bonds, we can’t wait to see how this tradition continues to evolve. The connections made on and off the field this year are just the beginning. We’re excited for what comes next for our players, alumni, and our entire Oakland Lacrosse community.
